Yoga is a 3000 year-old practice originating from India promoting health through union of the body, mind, and spirit. The principles of Yoga Therapy include connection of the breath with the movement of the body, with specific focus on the spine. As a therapeutic approach to yoga, Yoga Therapy can be used to address physical, mental and emotional issues, including but not limited to: stress, anxiety, depression, scoliosis, back pain, joint problems, injury rehabilitation, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, asthma, and women’s reproductive health issues ranging from pregnancy to menopause. In private session, specific yoga postures, breathing, and/or meditation techniques may be recommended to the individual to support their specific needs.
Jade River Offers Small, Therapeutic Yoga Classes
We know that you have many choices about where to practice yoga. That’s why we offer small, therapeutically focused yoga classes. We know that many of our patients may be uncomfortable going to classes at larger studios: chronic pain, physical limitation or past injury, discomfort with larger classes, or need for more focused instruction are all reasons that may keep patients from yoga classes.
Many of the providers at Jade River have active yoga practices, and know first-hand the benefits of yoga for pain, stress, insomnia, and other complaints. Because of this, we LOVE to introduce our patients to yoga, and that is why we offer classes, workshops and private lessons at Jade River. Our yoga instructors are highly trained and experienced in working with people with varying issues. We know that “coming home” to one’s body is often a first step in the deep healing we foster at Jade River, and we look forward to sharing yoga with you.
